Tips for a clean scan

• Fill the frame. The closer the card, the more text the scanner has to read.
• One card at a time. Two cards in the frame confuse the read.
• More light. In a dark room the app offers to turn the torch on; say yes.
• Avoid glare. Holo cards and reflective toploaders bounce light; tilt the card a few degrees away from the lamp.
• Hold steady. The scanner waits for a sharp frame; a moving card is a blurry one.

A card in a sleeve scans fine. A card behind a toploader held at an angle is the hardest case, along with heavy edge wear and very low light. If the scanner still misses, Search by name instead finds the card in a few letters.
